Creating a Strategic Framework for Social Media

Every 26 seconds, a young person in America drops out of school. For more than 30 years, Communities In Schools (CIS), has been empowering students to achieve in school, graduate, and go on to bright futures. Today, CIS is the nation’s leading dropout prevention organization.

When they approached us, CIS was looking for a more cohesive social media strategy. Their online tools (website, blog, YouTube channel, Twitter, Huffington Post, Pinterest, and other outlets) lacked any sort of integration, which we understood works against the advancement of an organization’s mission and goals, instead of accelerating them.

CIS asked us to develop a coordinated platform for their social media that more effectively engaged its stakeholders as well as grow their network of donors, volunteers, and advocates.

GALEWiLL developed a strategy that pulled together CIS’s digital tools – to strengthen and expand the organization’s engagement with its network. We created a simple roadmap, a document that visually laid out how CIS’s online components could work in concert to help address their engagement objectives. We also provided a set of recommendations for how best to implement the online strategy moving forward.
